Tablets with HDMI connection: an overview
A tablet with an HDMI connection is an all-rounder when it comes to entertainment. We give you an overview of the best tablets with this feature.
Advantages of a tablet with HDMI connection
- Tablets are just as suitable for comfortable surfing on the couch as they are as a portable entertainment center. While the displays often left a lot to be desired in terms of picture quality, you can expect much more with newer devices.
- Nevertheless, it is still a big plus if you can connect the tablet to the TV using HDMI, for example to show friends and relatives the pictures from your last vacation or to enjoy a video on the high-definition TV.
- But not every tablet can be easily connected to your television. Most of the models have no or only a proprietary TV output.

Pay attention to the size of the connection
However, pay attention to the size of the tablet's HDMI port. There are three in total: HDMI, Mini-HDMI and Micro-HDMI.
- The normal full-size HDMI port is the easiest to use because you don't need an adapter cable to plug it in. Both ends of the HDMI cable look the same. However, this connection takes up a lot of space, which is why the smaller HDMI alternatives are often used for tablets.
- For the smaller connections you need an adapter cable that has a normal HDMI connector on one end and a mini or micro HDMI connector on the other. The quality of the signal transmission is not affected; it hardly varies between the different connection sizes.
