Clocking 60/60 - what does that mean?
In this practical tip, we explain the meaning of the 60/60 cycle for your cell phone tariff.
Mobile phone contract: the beat makes the price
Even a mobile phone tariff that is cheap at first glance can quickly lead to high costs. One aspect to watch out for is the timing of the provider.
- The minute prices are stated in the tariff. In addition, a timing is always given. This determines how much time is calculated, even if the conversation may have ended.
- The first number of clocks determines which time is always calculated. In the case of a 60/60 cycle, this means that the first full minute is calculated, even if you are only on the phone for 10 seconds.
- The second number indicates what time is calculated after the first minute. Both numbers are always given in seconds. With a 60/60 timing, this means that every minute of a conversation that is started is fully calculated.
- The fairest and most consumer-friendly billing would be a 1/1 cycle. A phone call of 15 seconds then only costs 15 seconds. For each minute started, only the number of seconds used will be charged.
