TAN generator does not work - what to do?
In order for payment to be authorized, you must enter a TAN. If the TAN generator does not work, this may be due to a faulty graphic. This practical tip contains information on troubleshooting.
TAN generator does not work - this may be the reason
Here's what you can do if the TAN generator doesn't work:
- Make sure you hold the generator correctly against the screen so that the graphic can be read.
- The right angle is crucial for this. You can use the magnifying glasses to enlarge or reduce the graphic.
- You should also make sure that the monitor does not reflect through direct light.
- The TAN generator may also have hung up. In this case, open the battery compartment on the back and briefly remove both batteries.
- The batteries may also be too weak. Therefore, replace them as a test.
- To increase security, the TAN generator only accepts cards that have been registered in advance.
- Therefore, make sure that you are using the correct card and that it is inserted correctly into the generator.
- In your bank's online banking, you can view the registered cards or add new ones under "Service"> "PIN / TAN management"> "Show / change chipTAN card".
