Switch off the keyboard - how it works
You can switch off your keyboard on the PC in different ways to save electricity. In this practical tip, we will tell you exactly what options you have.
Switch off the keyboard - there are these options
- Switch: Some keyboards have a switch on the back for switching on and off. Wireless keyboards in particular have this switch.
- Battery: With wireless keyboards, you can also remove the batteries to switch off the keyboard.
- Plug: If you have a wired keyboard, you can simply remove the keyboard plug from the PC to switch it off.
- Control Panel: You can also switch off the keyboard via "Control Panel"> "Device Manager". Click on "Keyboard" here and then right click on your keyboard. Select "Uninstall" to turn it off.
- Registry: An intervention in the registry also ensures that the keyboard is switched off. First press [Windows] + [R] and enter "regedit". Confirm with "OK" and navigate to the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ System \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ kbdclass". Set the value from "Start" to "4" so that the keyboard is switched off.
