If your keyboard opens programs and windows instead of typing letters, this can have different reasons. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Windows: Keyboard opens programs and windows uncontrollably
If you press a letter on the keyboard, only the letter should actually appear. If the system has been adjusted, numerous windows and programs can also appear to open indiscriminately. In this case, try the following:
- Restart: First switch your computer off and on again. In many cases this will solve the problem.
- USB: Disconnect the keyboard from the computer and connect the device via another USB port.
- Keyboard: There may also be a defect on the keyboard. If you can connect another keyboard, try it out.
- Snap-in function: If you have accidentally activated the snap-in function, a wide variety of windows can open each time you press the button. To switch off the function, simply press the Shift key several times in quick succession.
Keyboard opens programs instead of letters
- Driver: Uninstall the keyboard driver and then reinstall it. Here you will find suitable instructions. The keyboard can be found in the "Input devices" category.
