Keyboard omits letters - that's why
If your keyboard omits letters, this can be due to dirt between the keys, for example. The problem is often solved in just a few simple steps, as we show you in this practical tip.
Keyboard omits letters - you can do that
If some letters are omitted from your keyboard, this can either be due to a dirty keyboard or a defect:
- First, make sure you have the latest keyboard driver installed. You can check this with Windows Update.
- There may also be a defect in the USB connection, which is why some letters are omitted. So try another port.
- Even if the keyboard is used regularly, dust and dirt accumulate, which can also ensure that letters are not recognized. You should therefore clean your keyboard regularly.
- To be able to further isolate the error, test the keyboard on another PC. If the same letters are omitted here, the error is due to the keyboard.
- If necessary, an incorrect language setting can also cause the omitted letters. Check this under Control Panel> "Language".
- If you cannot solve the problem with the tips, there may be a major defect and you should replace the keyboard.
