Keyboard: key stuck - what to do?
If a key is stuck on your keyboard, there is no reason to despair. Usually the problem can be solved very quickly.
Key stuck - you can do that
Before you do anything, you should disconnect the keyboard from the PC or shut down the laptop. This will prevent you from using keyboard shortcuts to damage your computer.
- Press the button several times from different angles and in different places. It can often already be solved in this way.
- Clean your keyboard from the outside. A vacuum cleaner with a soft attachment and a slightly damp, clean cloth will help.
- If the key is still stuck, remove it from the keyboard. Carefully pry it out with your fingernail or a thin screwdriver. First loosen it on one side, then on the opposite side. Then carefully clean the underside of the key and the support surface on the keyboard with a cloth or your finger. Reinstall the button by placing it in the correct position and pressing it.
