TeamViewer: microphone doesn't work - what to do?
If the TeamViewer does not communicate with your microphone, we will show you what you can do about it.
You can do that: Microphone in TeamViewer does not work
- Check that the microphone is connected correctly. If necessary, try another socket on your PC.
- Was the microphone properly recognized by your computer? To do this, go to the Control Panel and then "Sound". Click on the "Recording" tab here and check whether the microphone is listed there.
- Check whether the microphone in TeamViewer is not muted. To do this, go to "Tools"> "Options" in TeamViewer and then "Audio Conference". Here you can see whether the microphone is muted and has sufficient volume.
- Does the microphone work in other applications, such as team peak? Check this on various programs.
- Have you installed the current driver of your microphone (if available) on the PC? You can find more information on the manufacturer's website.
- Also check whether the latest version of TeamViewer is installed. If this is not the case, you will see an arrow in the top right corner of the TeamViewer main window.
This practical tip is based on TeamViewer 9 under Windows 7. A black screen in TeamViewer is at least as annoying as a broken microphone. We'll show you what you can do against a black screen.
