TeamViewer: Open and change ports
If you have problems connecting to TeamViewer, you should check the ports used. In this practical tip, we will show you how it's done.
TeamViewer: Open and change ports
- TeamViewer regularly tries to establish a TCP and UDP connection via outgoing port 5938. If this does not work, the TCP port 443 is used. If this is also blocked, the TCP port 80 is used.
- It is not possible to change the ports used by TeamViewer via TeamViewer itself. However, by blocking the ports mentioned, you can allow the connection to run specifically via the unblocked port.
- If you have any problems, you should first open the ports in the Windows Firewall. If this is unsuccessful, the ports in the router are likely to be blocked.
- Here you will find instructions for the FritzBox, the Speedport of Telekom, the Easybox and routers from Unitymedia.
Tip: Alternatively, you can use TeamViewer in the browser.
