Extend the phone socket - how it works
You can extend your phone socket in just a few simple steps. In this practical tip you will learn step by step how to do it.
Extend the telephone socket - this is how you proceed
To extend the telephone socket, you need a so-called attachment tool and an installation cable, which you can buy in your hardware store on site. Here's how you do it:
- Unscrew the phone socket with a screwdriver and remove the cover.
- Now plug the installation cable into the rear two connections and press the cable firmly with the attachment tool until you hear a click.
- Then isolate the two ends of the installation cable with cable pliers or scissors.
- Then unscrew the other telephone socket, insert the ends of the cables into the first two contacts and then screw them tight.
Alternative: extend the telephone socket
- First get this extension cord.
- Then simply connect the cable to the telephone connection or to the router and lay the cable.
- Tip: In most cases, the baseboards can be raised so that you can lay the cable behind them. Once you have reached your destination, you can also fix the cable with a piece of adhesive tape or a cable clamp.
- Note: Make sure that the cable is not twisted or kinked, otherwise it can be damaged more quickly.
