Telekom: Check LTE availability - here it goes
If you would like to purchase an LTE contract from Telekom, you should first check the availability in your area. We'll show you how it's done.
If you want to know more about LTE, here is the current CHIP network test 2017/2018.
Check Telekom LTE availability
An expensive contract with LTE is of little use if you cannot use LTE at home or at work. That's why Telekom created a fairly detailed map:
- You can view every corner of Germany on the following Deutsche Telekom website. You can use the search function to navigate directly to the desired location.
- In addition to 2G and 3G, you will also find three different versions of LTE. The individual versions with a maximum of 50, 150 and 300 Mbit / s are partly not yet available nationwide.
- A color gradation is also available for the two smaller LTE classes. If the colored area is somewhat lighter in some places, LTE reception is only possible outside of buildings.
Beware of the different LTE versions
- Mobile phone contracts often only refer to LTE. However, the maximum speed is important. Often you only get the weakest LTE version with 50 instead of 150 or 300 Mbit / s.
- If you use one of the two better standards, your smartphone must also support it. Because LTE is not the same as LTE. In the next practical tip, we will introduce you to the various LTE versions in more detail.
