Connect the Telekom Media Receiver - Here's how
Once you have received your Telekom Media Receiver, you can connect the device directly. We'll show you step by step how this works.
Step 1: Connect the Telekom Media Receiver to the TV
- First, the Telekom Media Receiver is connected to the television. Choose either a connection via HDMI or Scart. You can only see in HD quality via HDMI.
- You can find the corresponding cables online at relatively low prices. At Amazon, an HDMI cable costs around 6 euros, a Scart cable around 4 euros. You should only use a scart cable if your TV does not support HDMI.
- If you want to play the sound on your hi-fi system and not on the television, this is also possible. On the back of the Telekom Media Recorder you will find a coaxial and an optical connection.
Step 2: Connect the Telekom Media Receiver to the router
- To receive the content on the media receiver, you need an intact connection to the Internet. This is usually only possible using a LAN cable. Connect the supplied cable to the router or buy a longer LAN cable.
- If you want to connect the Telekom Media Receiver wirelessly to the Internet, this is only possible via a WLAN bridge or a DLAN adapter. You can get both from Telekom at an additional cost.
- However, you should first compare the prices here. You can get a decent WiFi repeater for around 50 euros, two DLAN adapters for around 30 euros.
