Telekom: Telephone connection is broken - you can do that
If the telephone connection at Telekom is interrupted, this is always annoying. We will explain the reasons for this and how you can fix the problem.
Telephone connection breaks down in the Telekom mobile network
- If you are traveling in rural areas, the call may break off due to the poor coverage of transmission towers. Try to re-establish the connection. You may need to change your location to get a stronger signal.
- If you use VoiceOverLTE (VoLTE) and the LTE reception strength is not sufficient, the call is called up. Deactivate VoLTE in the settings of your smartphone in order to establish a telephone connection via the 3G or 2G network.
- If you haven't restarted your smartphone for a long time, a restart can also help.
Telephone connection breaks down in the Telekom fixed network
If the connection in the fixed network breaks off, there is usually a problem with the router.
- Check all plug connections of the router for damage and firm seating. Check whether all cables are undamaged and replace cables if necessary.
- Disconnect the router's power supply for at least one minute. You can then restart the router.
- Log in to your router with your user name and password. Check the event viewer / log for an error message.
- If a firmware update is available for your router, update the software.
- If this did not lead to success, reset your router to the delivery state. After a reset, all settings and user data must be re-entered.
