5 methods against slipping carpets
A slipping carpet is a potential danger. Wrinkles, kinks or slides on the parquet, carpets can quickly become a problem. If you do not want to immediately install a completely new carpet, you can solve this problem using one of the following methods.
- Non-slip underlays : Put on non-slip rubber underlays to keep your carpet in one place. These can be easily cut to size and simply have to be placed under the carpet.
- Wake-up rings : Glue classic wake-up rings to the corners and one in the middle of the carpet to fix it. The rubber ensures that the carpet only moves under high loads.
- Adhesive tapes : Strong double-sided adhesive tape or special carpet tapes are also a good way to fix your carpet. Glue it in large lengths on the floor and then lay the carpet on the tapes and press it on. The tapes are rock solid when done with care.
- Velcro : Velcro is just as effective as adhesive. To do this, glue the side with the soft Velcro to the underside of the carpet and remove the cover for the adhesive from the other side. Then all you have to do is press the carpet onto the floor.
- Spray : Alternatively, you can use special carpet sprays. These act like an adhesive and keep the carpet in the desired place. The spray leaves no residue and can be easily removed.
- Please note that especially smaller carpets can be fixed using this method. Larger carpets often move faster.
