Terraria: 5 tips for hard mode
In Terraria you go into hard mode after the flesh wall dies. The monsters and bosses are a lot stronger here. However, you can also find better resources. In our 5 tips for hard mode, we show you how best to survive in the difficult world.
Preparation is all in Terraria's hard mode
After you have defeated the flesh wall, you are in hard mode:
- In order to spawn new ores like titanium or palladium, you have to destroy demon altars.
- You can only destroy them with the hammer that drops the flesh wall.
- In order to get the better ores and thus better equipment as quickly as possible, you should dig free demon altars in normal mode. Most can be found in corruption.
- In hard mode you only need to destroy them and the new ores spawn in your world.
Contain the evil
Corruption continues to spread in hard mode. Therefore, you should protect your base. Corruption cannot pass through a mud wall two blocks thick. You can also plant sunflowers at the beginning and end of the infested area. Cleaning powder also stops corruption. You can get both from the Dryad.
New armor
Before you kill any bosses in hard mode, you should get new armor. After destroying some demon altars, you can start digging. Your target should be adamantite or titanium armor. Alternatively, Orichalcum or Mithril armor is sufficient. You should also make a weapon and new tools.
Protect your NPCs
Before going into hard mode, you should have built a safe home for your NPCs. This way, they cannot be killed by zombies and other monsters. An entrance with teleporters is best suited. So no monster will come into your house.
Kill bosses properly
In order to effectively kill bosses like the destroyer or the twins, you should choose an area of the map that you specially prepare for it. A long straight line without obstacles or an elevated position to shoot is worthwhile, which is particularly helpful for the destroyer. Here too it is said: preparation is everything.
