Tesla: loading time of all models
Telsa is the ultimate electric car brand. It is also right at the top when it comes to loading times. You can find out how long which model takes to charge in this practical tip.
Fast loading times with the Tesla: luxury class model
- The Tesla luxury model S has been on the market since 2012 and is the fastest of all comparison models when charging. The battery on the associated Supercharger dispenser is completely full again within 36 minutes. (All information about the Tesla Model S 75D can be found here)
- If none of these charging stations is nearby, you have to resort to multi-phase sockets. With a 22 kilowatt CEE red plug (400V, 32A, three-phase), charging takes 3.9 hours. Charging with an 11 kilowatt CEE red plug (400V, 16A, three-phase) takes significantly longer. The Model S is connected to the network for at least 7.7 hours.
- If you only have single-phase plugs (7.4 kilowatts CEE blue plugs), you wait 11.5 hours. Charging via a household plug is also possible - however, this is not recommended by the manufacturer and can only be used in an emergency. The charging time is often more than 30 hours.
Powerful Model X loads longer
- The sporty SUV from Tesla followed in 2015 - the Model X. Depending on the type, this electric car has an output of up to 773 hp. Consumption and charging times are correspondingly higher. (All information about the Tesla Model X 75D can be found here)
- The electric vehicle charges at the 22 kilowatt CEE red plug in four hours. Charging takes around eight hours with the 11 kilowatt CEE red plug and a full twelve hours with the 7.4 kilowatt CEE blue plug. Charging on the household plug is also not recommended for this model.
- If you drive a Tesla X, you should go to a Supercharger spot. The car is fully operational again in a good half hour. A full battery lets you drive over 400 kilometers. With the Model X 100D even up to 565 kilometers.
Excited waiting for the Tesla Model 3
The first three Tesla models are already being delivered in the USA. However, it can take months before the market launch in Germany takes place.
- The interest is nevertheless immense, because with the Model 3, the Silicon Valley group is releasing a mid-range car from the assembly line for the first time.
- There are two variants for Model 3: one with a conventional battery and one with a long-life battery. The charging times for the battery are just as long as for the Model X (4-8-12 hours). The range is only 354 kilometers. If that's not enough for you, you should go for the model with the long-term battery. The distance is extended to 499 kilometers.
- The fun with the environmentally friendly luxury vehicle can also cost something. In the U.S., the list price of the 3 Series is around $ 35, 000 and $ 44, 000, respectively. The European market price is likely to be somewhat higher.
- For comparison: the series S series model carries a proud price tag of 69, 000 euros; the Model X is available from 92, 000 euros upwards.
