Insert text in Lightroom - is that possible?
In this article, we explain how you can insert text into your images in the photo editing software Lightroom.
Insert text in Lightroom - how it works
The image editing program Ligthroom was specially developed for processing RAW files and adapted to the needs of photographers. In order to add text to a presentation or slideshow, for example, you must first download and install the "LR / Mogrify 2" plug-in. In the following instructions, we explain how to install the additional module.
- First download the "LR / Mogrify 2" plug-in. Note: The expansion module only works from "Lightroom 3" and can be used without restriction through a donation.
- After the download, unzip the "LRMogrify2.lrplugin" folder to a desired location. The "WinRAR" packing software is suitable as an unpacker.
- Start the photo editing program Lightroom.
- Under "File" open the "Add-on module manager" and click on the "Add" option.
- Navigate to the location where you unpacked the plug-in. Do not select a file, but confirm your work step with "Select folder". Click on "Done" so that the module is listed in the export dialog.
- Install the free program "ImageMagick" to use the plug-in.
- Now open the export dialog under "Lightroom" with the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [E]. Activate the module by double-clicking on "Mogrify Configuration" under "LR / Mogrify2".
- To be able to use the add-on module, you only have to specify the program folder of "ImageMagick" under "Path to Mogrify.exe".
- With the "Insert" button you can add the "LR / Mogrify2" to the other settings under the "Postprocessing actions". With the help of the "Text Annotation" module you can now insert any text into Lightroom.
