Hide lyrics in music - how it works
Instead of encrypting documents, you can simply hide secret texts in music files. Messages can thus be transmitted without anyone being suspicious. In this practical tip we will show you how.
Step 1: Download the program and create secret texts
Note: These instructions refer to OpenPuff v4.00.
- Download the OpenPuff program.
- Create a new text file. It is up to you whether you write the message with Word, the Windows text editor or another writing program.
- Note the location of the text file.
Step 2: hide the message in a music file
A step-by-step instruction can also be found again in the picture gallery below.
- Start "OpenPuff" and click the "Hide" button.
- Enter a password to protect your message. This must be at least eight characters long. You can enter two additional passwords to increase protection. If you do not need the function, remove the checkmarks under "Enable [B]" and "Enable [C]".
- Now click on the "Browse" button and select the text file.
- Click the "Add" button and look for the music file in which you want to hide your message. "OpenPuff" supports the audio formats AIFF, MP3, NEXT / SUN and WAV. For example, if an MP3 file doesn't work for you, you can change the audio format with Audacity.
- As soon as you click on "HideData!" click, your text will be hidden in the music file.
- You can make your text visible again by clicking on "Unhide" in the "OpenPuff" program window and importing your audio file.
