Thunderbird: Export address book - how it works
In this practical tip we will show you how to export your Thunderbird address book in just a few steps.
Open the Thunderbird address book and export contacts
To save your email addresses in Thunderbird, first switch to the address book.
- Open Thunderbird and navigate to the menu at the top left.
- Now select the "Tools" option from the context menu and then "Address Book". Alternatively, you can also press the key combination [Ctrl] + [Shift] + [B]. After opening the address book, you can export the saved email addresses.
- You will now see a new window with your saved addresses. Select "Tools" again and then the "Export ..." option. You will then be asked to choose a name and location for the file.
- When you're done, click "Save." Thunderbird saves the file in "LDIF" format. The saved address book is compatible with all e-mail programs.
