Let Thunderbird start automatically - how it works
If you want to be automatically informed about new mails, you have to start Thunderbird so that the mail client runs in the background. This practical tip explains how you can have the program run automatically when the system starts.
Start Thunderbird automatically with Windows
In order for Thunderbird to start automatically with the operating system, you have to link the program to the autostart:
- To do this, right-click on the Thunderbird icon on the desktop or the start menu and select "Send to"> "Desktop (create shortcut)".
- Then press the [Windows] and [R] keys simultaneously so that the "Run" window opens.
- Enter the command "shell: startup" and confirm with "OK". The autostart folder opens.
- Paste the shortcut you created here on your desktop. As soon as you restart Windows, Thunderbird opens automatically.
