Thunderbird: Add email account
If you have just installed Thunderbird or you want to use a second address, you can add an email account. We'll show you how it's done.
Add an email account to Thunderbird
- In Thunderbird, click on the "Account Settings" in the menu bar under "Tools".
- Now select the option "Add email account" at the bottom left under "Account Actions".
- Then enter your name, your email address and the associated password here.
- If you click the "Next" button below, Thunderbird tries to find the right settings.
- If this does not work, you have to enter the settings for the POP3 / IMAP and SMTP server manually. You can find the data on the website of your mail provider.
