Thunderbird: Export and import emails
In this practical tip we will show you how you can export and import your emails in Thunderbird.
Import and export emails in Thunderbird
- The easiest way to export and import in Thunderbird is with the ImportExportTools extension, which you can download free of charge from the manufacturer.
- After downloading, select "Add-ons" using the menu icon at the top right.
- Click on the Settings icon and select "Install add-on from file". Now locate and install the previously downloaded XPI file. Then you have to restart Thunderbird.
- By right-clicking on a folder, such as the inbox, you can access the ImportExportTools and export the corresponding folder. By right-clicking on an empty space, you can alternatively select the "Export all messages" option and the appropriate format.
- With the button "Import messages" your mails can be imported into Thunderbird.
