Thunderbird: Set up master password - how it works
If you want to better protect the Thunderbird e-client program, you can set up a master password. You must then enter this password when you restart the tool so that you can check and read your emails.
In the settings: Create master password for Thunderbird
- Open Thunderbird on your computer.
- At the top right click on the icon with the three horizontal lines and select the "Settings" option in the open menu.
- Then click on the "Security" tab and place a checkmark next to "Use master password".
- Now enter the new master password twice and confirm with "OK".
In order for you to see your mails immediately after entering the master password, you should deactivate the welcome screen in Thunderbird.
