Partition Time Capsule - Here's how
You can also partition your Apple Time Capsule as you like. In this practical tip, we will tell you exactly how to do this.
Partitioning Time Capsule - you should be aware of this
- Before starting work, you should copy the backup for security reasons.
- Remove the Time Capsule's power plug before carrying out any work so that you do not get an electric shock.
- Tip: If you have a smartphone repair tool, you can use it ideally for this work.
- Note: Under no circumstances should you change the file format of the Time Capsule, otherwise it will no longer be readable.
Partition time capsule - so it'll work
- First loosen the rubber cover of the Time Capsule so that you can get inside.
- Now you have to loosen about 10 small screws on the floor. Use a small Phillips screwdriver for this.
- Then gently lift the bottom panel to remove the fan cable. Then you can remove the installed hard drive.
- Then either connect them in a housing for external hard drives or install them in your PC.
- Then proceed as described here on the Mac.
- You can also partition the hard drive under Windows.
- Note: Leave the "APconfig" and "APswap" partitions as they are, otherwise errors can occur.
- When you are finished, you need to reinstall the hard drive in the Time Capsule, connect it and press the rubber cover firmly into place.
