Tinker's construct: craft steel - how it works
If you want to use the Minecraft mod Tinker's Construct extensively, you have to craft a lot of steel. In this practical tip, we reveal how you can get the coveted steel bars.
Minecraft: Create Steel in Tinker's Construct
Steel is one of the new ores that will be added to Minecraft with the Mod Tinker's Construct. Unlike gold or iron, however, steel cannot be mined in nature. Instead, you get the bars in three other ways.
- Burn steel: The quickest way to get to Steel is to smelt iron bars with coal in an oven. This works in both the standard Minecraft furnace and the Tinker's Construct forge.
- Melt armor: Alternatively, you can also melt found parts of a steel armor. Depending on the piece, you will receive between four and eight bars. You can find some of the armor in chests around the world, or you can get it as a loot from descriptive monsters with steel armor. Some villagers also offer the armor for sale.
- Boxes: Very rarely you will find steel bars in abandoned boxes. These are scattered across villages, mines and nether fortresses.
- Other mods: If you have installed other modifications besides Tinker's Construct that also contain Steel, there may be other crafting recipes. The steel acquired in this way then also works with recipes from Tinker's Construct.
