Print place cards yourself - how it works
You can create and print place cards for festive occasions yourself. Different motifs, sizes and texts - there are no limits to your own place cards. We show where you can find free templates and create place cards yourself.
Print place cards yourself: Here you will find templates
Unfortunately there is no template for table cards in Word, but in PowerPoint:
- Open PowerPoint and enter "place cards" in the search bar. Find your favorite card from the results.
- If you now click on "Word", three different search results will open. Here you select the template with the hearts. You can of course remove it later or replace it with another symbol / image.
- Now you can already edit your table cards: Instead of "table one" you can only enter the name of the person or the title of the event and below that the name of the person. A maximum of two lines are possible in this template.
- You can also remove the heart and replace it with "Insert"> "Images" or "Insert"> "Online graphics".
- Proceed for all table cards and print them out at the end via "File"> "Print". Please also note our printing tips below.
Place cards: Find more templates and create your own design
Further templates for table cards can be found in the CHIP downloads (free of charge) and at "Free-Printable". Alternatively, you can also make your own place cards in Word:
- Open a new document and double-click the left edge (the ruler) to set up the page.
- First select "Landscape" and then click on the "Paper" tab.
- There you select the size "A5" under "Paper size".
- Now select "Insert"> "Text field" and at the bottom "Create text field" and draw a text field with the mouse.
- Enter the first name or title of the event and the name below it.
- Under "Shape contour" you can now select "no contour" to remove the frame of the text box.
- Then mark the text and format it using the "Start" tab. For example with the font and size as well as the font color. Select "Centered" as the orientation.
- Now click on the text box, press [Ctrl] + [C] and then four times [Ctrl] + [V]. Then drag the four text boxes to the desired position.
- Then you can optionally choose a symbol or picture via "Insert"> "Pictures" and "Insert"> "Online graphics".
- Finally, print out the finished cards.
Print place cards - the best tips
- So that your place cards do not immediately fall over, you should use particularly thick paper. 115 gram paper or even stronger paper is well suited. However, the paper should not be more than 170 grams, otherwise the printer could cause problems.
- Colored paper is particularly suitable if you print the place cards in black and white. For example, a bright yellow is a subtle and not too intrusive color for place cards. If you have more table decorations, you should match the color of the cards.
- The best place cards are of course printed out in color. Then you should either choose a background color or add a background image.
For a larger event with many friends, you can also create a Facebook event and remind your guests of the celebration there. Tips and information - such as what guests should bring and how to get to the event location - are also in good hands there.
