Tolino hangs: How to solve the problem
If the Tolino Reader hangs, a simple restart will help in most cases. You may need to perform a reset if you have more serious problems. We'll show you how to do it.
1. Tolino hangs: recharge the battery
- The Tolino displays a still image when the battery is empty.
- Charge the battery to ensure that a flat battery is not causing the problem.
2. Switch off Tolino and restart
- Turn off your Tolino Reader by pressing the power button for six seconds.
- Switch the device on again. Now it should work as usual again.
- If there are problems with the restart, you should reset the reader.
3. Tolino hangs: reset reader
- Next to the micro USB port for charging there is a small hole in which the reset button is attached. On the Tolino Shine you will find the reset button under the flap at the power connection.
- Press and hold the button in the hole using an open paper clip or similar object until the reader turns off.
- Your Tolino will restart automatically and should then work again. If a simple reset does not help, carry out a hard reset.
4. Hard reset on the Tolino
Please note that a hard reset deletes all content from your reader and resets the settings.
- Press and hold the volume up and power button for ten seconds. You should now see the reboot screen.
- To switch to recovery mode, press and hold the on / off button for a moment.
- In the menu, select the "Wipe Data / Factory Reset" item using the volume up and volume down buttons and confirm with the on / off button.
- Confirm that you want to delete all data by pressing the on / off button again.
- To restart the Tolino, select the "reboot system now" option.
