Store toner correctly: the best tips
Toners can be really expensive. The cartridges should therefore be stored correctly if you have bought them in stock. We tell you what to look for.
Store toner correctly - that's how it works
- It is best to keep the toner in its original, unopened packaging. It is optimally protected.
- The humidity should not be too low or too high. The relative humidity is therefore optimally between 30-80%. 40-50% are ideal. You can easily determine the humidity with a hydrometer.
- Always store toner in the installed position and not upright. Before you insert the cartridge later, shake it gently back and forth.
- It is best to store toner in an ambient temperature below 35 ° Celsius and above 10 ° Celsius. You should definitely avoid extreme temperature fluctuations.
- If you cannot store the toner in its original packaging, prevent direct light. Above all, this includes solar radiation.
- In addition to the ambient temperature and humidity, good air circulation also influences the durability of a toner. You should therefore not forget to regularly ventilate the storage location.
- Toners should also always be stored in such a way that children have no access to them: the cartridges are not toys and can cause damage in children's hands.
