Toner and drum - that's the difference
If you use a laser printer, you will find a toner and a drum inside. We explain the difference between the two parts and explain how they work.
Toner vs. Drum - that's the difference
The toner is often used to refer to the toner cartridge. The toner powder used for printing is in the cartridge.
- The drum means the image drum or the "drum kit". When printing is started, the drum charges up statically. The drum is unloaded by laser where the toner should stick from the cartridge.
- The toner is then fed to the drum. He is liable at the unloaded places.
- The drum then rolls the toner over the paper.
- The toner is hardened by heat and then adheres to the finished print.
