Tor Browser: Disable Javascript - how it works
If you want to surf the net undetected with the Tor browser, you should deactivate Javascript. As a result, most tracking methods no longer work and you remain anonymous on the Internet. In this article we show how you can switch off the extension.
How to disable Javascript in the Tor browser
- First, open the Tor browser as usual.
- Then click on the symbol with the blue "S" to the left of the address line (see photo). The browser tool "NoScript" is hidden behind it.
- Now select "Prohibit scripts in general (recommended)". The "blue S" now appears with a red bar through it (see picture).
- You have successfully deactivated Javscript. You can check this setting with a check on the website "www.enable-javascript.com/de".
