Total Commander: Set up SFTP - how it works

SFTP can also be used with the Total Commander. But this is not possible without a plugin. We show you here how to set up your Total Commander correctly.
Set up SFTP plugin in Total Commander
To get your Total Commander ready for SFTP, you need to install a plugin. To do this, proceed as follows:
- Go to the Total Commander plugin page and go to the file system extensions. This link will take you there.
- In the list you will find an extension called "SFTP". Download this and unzip the archive.
- Open your Total Commander and click on "Configure" in the menu, then on "Options - Operation - DS-Plugins".
- Click "Add" and select the wfx file of the SFTP plugin in the downloaded folder.
- Now you have successfully made your Total Commander SFTP capable.
Use SFTP in your Total Commander
You have now successfully made your Total Commander SFTP capable.
- Switch to the network environment, there you will find the entry "SecureFTP".
- With F7 you can create new entries, edit entries with Alt + Enter and rename entries with Shift + F6.
- So you can let your Total Commander communicate securely with your server.
