Lock touchpad automatically when typing
Many laptop users are familiar with the problem: when writing, the palm of the hand lies on the touchpad and ensures unwanted entries. After a short time, frustration arises when working. We show you how to use a freeware tool and how to lock the touchpad automatically.
Touchpad blocker prevents incorrect entries on the laptop
The Touchpad Blocker program prevents the majority of unintentional mouse movements. In contrast to a complete deactivation of the touchpad, the function is only briefly suspended and automatically reactivated.
- Download the tool and install it on your PC.
- Then a window opens with the setting options. For automatic use, the first option "Automatically run program on startup" must remain activated.
- You regulate the blocking time using the selection field "Time interval to block clicks". Start here with a slightly longer time of around one second. You can shorten this later to adapt the touchpad blocker to your personal way of working.
- During operation, the tool briefly hides the mouse pointer so that it cannot be moved.
- The tool can be switched on and off quickly at any time using the [Ctrl] + [F9] keys. Of course, you can also define a different key combination in the settings.
