You can easily make touchscreen gloves yourself and operate your smartphone in winter with your favorite gloves, for example. We'll show you what you need and how to make your gloves suitable for touch screens.
Trouchscreen trick: make gloves for your smartphone yourself
All you need for touchscreen gloves is conductive thread, which is also available as a sewing kit if you don't have a needle at home.
- The thread must make an uninterrupted connection from the finger to the touchscreen. Therefore, first put on the gloves to find out the position of the fingertips.
- Then mark the place where the fingertips touch the glove.
- Now you have to sew a filled square or a filled circle with the thread on the outside of the glove. It should be just under an inch in size so that the contact area is large enough.
- Then pull the thread inwards and sew a circle or square here as well. You can also use a simple basting stitch or a tight cross-stitch to add thread to both sides of the glove at the same time.
- You can still tie the end of the yarn on the inside and your gloves are ready to use.
Care instructions: Wash homemade touchscreen gloves
- The touchscreen gloves tolerate water without any problems: whether snowball fights or at 30 degrees in the washing machine - that doesn't matter to the gloves.
- However, you should no longer put the gloves in the dryer.
