Reset TP Link - Here's how
If the TP-Link router no longer functions as required, you can reset the device to the factory settings at any time. We show you in a practical tip how this works.
TP-Link: Reset router completely - how it works
- On the back of the TP-Link router you will find a small button or a hole labeled "Reset". For example, you can press the switch in the hole with an open paper clip.
- Press the reset button for around 10 seconds. Do not release the button until you receive feedback from the router. As a rule, some lights flash.
- The reset process can now take several minutes. If you then connect the router to a computer using a LAN cable, you can set up the router again.
- You open the web interface via the IP address 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254. The username and password is "admin".
In the next practical tip we will show you how to carry out a firmware update for the TP-Link router.
