Many hashtags or challenges online have no deeper meaning, with #trashtag it is different. We will explain what is behind this hashtag here.
#trashtag: that's the reason
He started with a picture and then went viral: the hashtag #trashtag, a fusion of "trashbag" (garbage bag) and "playing tag" (game of catches), quickly tripped on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. With the words "Here is a new challenge for you bored teenagers ..." a Facebook user posted two pictures of themselves. In the upper one you see a littered forest, in the middle a young man. In the lower one the same young man, surrounded by 9 large garbage bags. After the picture was shared over 230, 000 times on Facebook alone in just 5 days, it has also reached all other social media channels. Here's how you can be part of the hashtag:
- Just look for a park, forest or other place with a lot of rubbish. Take a photo of it. After you have cleaned up the place, take another picture. Now put the two pictures together and put them together with the hashtag #trashtag in the social networks.
- If you want to follow the pictures and opinions about the action of other people, it is best to keep an eye on Twitter search with the hashtag #trashtag.
