True Detective: Season 2 starts on Sunday
True Detective was the surprise hit in 2014. Season 2 will start on HBO this Sunday (June 21) with completely new characters - Colin Farrell, Vince Vaughn and Taylor Kitsch will inherit their award-winning predecessors Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson.
True Detective Season 2: New Trailer, New Story, New Faces
Not much is revealed in the current season 2 trailer, but the following is already known about the plot of the series hit:
- Completely detached from the events of the first season, season 2 starts a new story with new faces. Frank Semyon (played by Vince Vaughn) tries to get out of the criminal business. But the partner of his new, legal company is murdered.
- This brings three policemen on the scene, each with their own problems in their luggage: Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell) has got involved with the mafia and is too deep. Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) is scandalized. And Ani Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams) is desperate for the rigid police system in which she has to operate. But if it doesn't go on the official way, the cops have to show their bad sides in order to achieve their goal.

"True Detective Season 2" starts on June 21 at the US broadcaster HBO. In Germany the series will be shown on Sky.
