Mount TrueCrypt hard drive automatically - how it works
In Truecrypt you can also mount one or more hard disks automatically and thus start the password query automatically. We'll show you what you need to consider.
Mount hard drives in TrueCrypt automatically
To mount volumes in Truecrypt automatically, you can use the favorites function of the encryption program:
- Open Truecrypt and mount the encrypted disk as usual. To do this, enter your password.
- Right-click the correct volume in the list of mounted disks. Now the context menu opens in which you select "Add to Favorites".
- Now press "Favorites"> "Organize Favorite Volumes" in the Truecrypt main window. Select the hard disk in the list that you would like to mount automatically.
- Then place the fourth checkmark under "Mount selected volume when it's host device gets connected" (see screenshot). Confirm the change with "OK".
- In order for Truecrypt to automatically integrate the hard disk, you must of course have started the program. It is best to place the tool in the autostart.
We also show you how to restore a defective boot loader on your Truecrypt system partition.
