TTY mode: what is it? Easily explained
The TTY mode can be used on many Android smartphones. We'll tell you exactly what is behind this service in our practical tip.
This is your android's TTY mode
- TTY is an English abbreviation and stands for "Telephone TYpewriter" or "TeleTYpewriter".
- This is a mode of many Android mobile phones, through which speech and hearing impaired people can communicate with the smartphone.
- This TTY mode allows you to connect your smartphone to special writing phones or another relay service via the micro USB or the jack connection.
- This enables you to operate your smartphone with the writing phone by entering text.
- If your smartphone has a TTY mode, you can activate it in the call settings under "Additional settings".
- Not all manufacturers offer the full TTY mode. Samsung has added several settings specifically for the visually and hearing impaired in the menu item "Accessibility" in the settings. Here you can z. B. Show subtitles or change the headphone balance (see picture).
