Protect Tumblr with a password - how it works
If you don't want to make your Tumblr blog accessible to the general public, you can protect it with a password. We will show you how this can be done afterwards.
Protect Tumblr with a password
Unfortunately, passwords can only be set for secondary blogs. You cannot subsequently protect your main blog with a password.
- Open the Tumblr website and log in if necessary.
- Click the name of your blog in the top right corner and select the "Create a new blog" option.
- Now set the title and URL of the block and activate the option "Protect this blog with a password".
- Enter the password and click on the button "Create private blog" in the lower left corner.
- Every user who wants to view your blog now needs a password.
Protect blog afterwards
To provide your blog with a password, select it after you log in on the right-hand side and then go to the password settings at the bottom of the page.
- Please note that password protection is only possible for secondary blogs.
