TV signal: How to transfer it to a projector
- If you want to transmit your TV signal to a projector, it depends on the way in which you receive the TV signal.
- If you use a cable receiver, you can usually simply connect it to your projector with an HDMI cable and select the corresponding input signal using the remote control.
- With older receivers or projectors, the signal can alternatively be transmitted via VGA cable, provided that an appropriate interface is available.
- If you use a DVB-T stick, you can connect it to a notebook, for example, and transmit the signal to the projector via HDMI, VGA or DVI cable. The best results are usually achieved with HDMI.
- You can usually also easily connect a satellite receiver to the projector using an HDMI cable.
- If you do not use a receiver, you usually have to buy one in addition to the projector, since a TV tuner is normally not installed in a projector.
- If the connections are not compatible with each other, you will need an adapter or an adapter cable. For example, if your projector only has a DVI input, but the receiver has an HDMI output, you can use an HDMI-DVI adapter cable.
