Moobot is one of the most popular Twitchbots. In this practical tip, we will show you how to set up and use Moobot.
Twitch: Set up and use Moobot
We show you the most important basic settings for Moobot in Twitch.
- Go to the Twitch Moobot website and connect your Twitch account to Moobot. You will then automatically be taken to the Moobot settings.
- You will also find a chat window on the site. In it, you first have to make the Moobot a bot. To do this, write "#mod moobot" without quotation marks in the text field and confirm the entry to make the bot the moderator.
- In the Event Log you can track everything that happens in the chat.
- In the top bar you will see the "Spam Filters" item on the far left. Under "Spam Filter Settings" you can use sliders to set which messages are to be marked as spam. In addition, different trigger words can be set so that the bot knows what to react to.
- You will also find the "General Settings" under this heading. These are used to configure the Messeges Settings.
- Another item under "Spam Filters" is called "Regulars". Here you specify which people are excluded from the bot. The bot does not trigger on these people. You can currently set a maximum of 50 regulars, which can chat but have no mod rights and therefore cannot post links, for example.
- The last point is the "Whitelisted Links". Here you determine which links are allowed. You can use wildcards to do this, i.e. work with asterisks. For example, enter "* .facebook.com" to allow Facebook links.
Quick controls and comments
On the right side you will see the Quick Controls.
- These allow you to quickly give a permit to a specific person. Then the user can post a link in the next three minutes, even if he has no mod status.
- In the top bar you will also find the item "Commands". This is so that you can automate certain texts. If you define a text here, you only have to enter an exclamation mark in the chat and the pre-made text will be posted.
- A detailed tutorial on how to create your own commands in Twitch can be found in a separate practical tip.
