Twitter: Create your own background - how it works
On Twitter you can create your own background and personalize your page. We show you in our instructions how to do this.
Control the settings
First log in to the Twitter homepage and then proceed as follows:
- Click on the gear in the top right and then switch to Twitter settings.
- Select the "Design" item on the left.
- You will now see an overview of various design options on Twitter.
Set your own background on Twitter
If you scroll down further at this point, you will get to the individual background. This area should look like the screenshot.
- First upload a photo from your computer. Here you should use images with the dimensions 1800 x 1000 pixels. However, the photo can only be 0.8 MB in size.
- Then decide whether to tile the photo. Tiled means that the image can often be seen as small tiles on the screen and is thus composed as a large image in the background. This is particularly useful if you want to stage smaller images and patterns correctly.
- Determine how the position of the background image should look (left, centered or right).
- With a click on the background and design color you can also determine individual colors that should be visible on your Twitter profile. Here you can try out different colors before you commit.
- In a final step, you should adapt your overlay to the background image. Select a black or white overlay here.
- When everything is set up, click on "Save changes".
- Finally, you can view your page and make changes if necessary.
