As soon as popular events take place, the Twitter stream threatens to explode with tweets. To mute tweets and users:
- Log in to the Twitter website with your account.
- In a tweet, click "More"> "Mute" below.
- You can also mute a user directly in the profile. To do this, switch to the contact's profile view and click on the gear icon.
- Select "Mute" in the drop-down menu.
Mute Twitter contacts in Android and iOS app
You can also mute users in the Android and iOS app. Here's how it works:
- In the iOS or Android app, tap the tweet you want to mute and select the three-dot icon.
- Tap "Mute" and confirm your selection with a finger on "Yes, I'm sure".
- Alternatively, in the profile of a user, select the gear icon and select "Mute" and confirm the selection.
