Ubuntu won't boot - what to do?
If Ubuntu does not boot, there can be various reasons. In this article we will tell you what you can do in such a case.
Linux Ubuntu: Boot settings in the BIOS
A possible source of error could be that your system does not boot from the Ubuntu partition.
- When you start your PC, press the key that takes you to the BIOS. That varies from computer to computer. It is usually one of the keys F11, F12, F2 or F8.
- Each BIOS is structured similarly. Look for the menu item "Boot" under Settings.
- The partition on which your Ubuntu operating system is installed should have the highest priority in the boot order. Set this and save your settings.
- Restart your computer.
Linux Ubuntu: Reinstall
If your system does not want to start further, in most cases only a new installation of Ubuntu will help. You should first backup your data.

- When starting the computer, you should again observe the boot sequence. Your computer must start from the USB stick.
