If your computer does not recognize the SD card on Ubuntu, this can have various causes. Depending on whether you are using an external card reader or an integrated port, there are different solutions.
Ubuntu: SD card is not recognized - you can do that
If your SD card is not recognized in Ubuntu, follow the steps below.
- First check whether the SD card works correctly in your camera or other operating system. It may be a problem with the card and not with Ubuntu. Throw them out there safely.
- If you use an external SD card reader, make sure to install the correct drivers.
- Change the USB port or test the USB port with a device that works safely.
- Leave the SD card in its slot and restart the system.
- If the computer recognizes the card but you cannot access it, consider the Linux formats.
- If your device does not yet recognize the SD card, check the BIOS to see whether the interface for the SD card is activated.
