Ubuntu: Install Java - Here's how
Many programs programmed in Java also run on Ubuntu. To do this, however, you must install the Java environment. We'll show you how easy it is.
Install Java on Ubuntu
Java is part of the official Ubuntu package sources. To install it, you need to do the following:
- Right click on the desktop and select "Open Terminal".
- Now enter "sudo apt-get install openjdk-8-jre" and confirm with [Enter].
- Ubuntu installs the latest version with Java 8.
