Switch Ubuntu Server to German keyboard - How it works
To convert an Ubuntu server to a German keyboard layout, you only need a few commands. We show you how it works.
How to switch to a German keyboard layout
- Open the console and enter the following command (without quotes): "sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration".
- A window opens in which you can change your keyboard settings. First select "Generic 105-key (Intl) PC" (see screenshot).
- Next, confirm "German" as the country of origin of the keyboard and select "German" in the menu that follows. Leave the other settings as usual.
