Ubuntu: Change language
You can also change the language in Ubuntu. In this practical tip, we explain what you have to do for it.
Change language in the settings - how it works in Ubuntu
- Click the gear icon in the top left corner of the Ubuntu toolbar.
- Then select the "Languages" entry in the "Personal" area.
- Under "Language for menus and windows" in the "Language" tab you will see a list of all installed languages.
- The order is crucial here: Drag the language you want for your Ubuntu to the top.
- If parts of Ubuntu in this language pack are not translated, the language that is second in the list is automatically used as the source.
- With "Add / Remove languages" you can also install another language if your desired language is not in the list.
- Finally click on "Apply system-wide".
