UHD1 received: How it works
If you want to watch TV in 4K, this is only possible in Germany via the UHD1 channel. This practical tip shows you how to receive this channel and what you need for it.
Instructions: How to receive UHD1
The demo channel UHD1 has been on the air since 2015. More or less exciting content from the fields of action, documentary, lifestyle and music is broadcast. On July 22, 2018, ProSieben will broadcast a series of Galileo Spezial in 4K on UHD1. More on this in this CHIP article.
- To receive UHD1, of course, you need a UHD television. In addition, the television needs an integrated satellite receiver with a HEVC decoder.
- During the day, UHD 1 can be received free of charge via the Astra satellite and HD +. In the evening, the signal is cut, only paying HD + customers can see the contributions.
- For the paid reception you need an HD + module or an HD + UHD receiver. You can get both on the HD + website or on-site in electronics stores.
- If you are already using HD +, you will already find the station in the station list. If this is not the case, start a channel search. Otherwise your television will not support reception. The standard channel space is 1401, but may vary depending on the TV manufacturer.
- UHD 1 broadcasts with a resolution of 3, 840 x 2, 160 pixels. The frame rate is 50 frames per second, the color depth is 10 bits.
UHD1: Free and paid reception
- From Monday to Saturday you can receive UHD 1 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. via satellite or HD +. On Sundays, the transmission only runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this time, mainly short clips are shown in order to record 4K content in 4K television in the electronics trade.
- In the remaining time, complete programs are transmitted via UHD1. The reception is then only possible for a fee via HD +.
