Create a survey with Google Docs
With Google Docs, you can create large and small surveys in minutes. With extensive answer options, such as scales, multiple choice and free text responses, you can design the survey entirely according to your wishes.
How to open your Google Docs survey form
To create surveys with Google Docs, you need a Google account.
- Log in and open Google Drive.
- In the left menu block you can now select the sheet with the description "Forms" by clicking the "New"> "More" button. Now your survey mask opens.
Create question and answer options with Google Docs
- You can give the survey a title in the first line and a more detailed description in the line below.
- The third line now prompts you to enter a question type. You can choose between seven different answer options: text, paragraph, selection question, tick, choose from a list, scale and grid. Depending on the answer type, you give the survey participants the opportunity to add answer options themselves or to formulate a free text.
- If you would like to add further questions, you can do this using the "Add element" function below your last question. There you can also choose the answer option.
Complete, send and publish Docs survey on Facebook
- When you have entered all questions and answers, you can write a confirmation message at the bottom of the page, which the survey participant should see after successful participation.
- You can also choose whether the link to submit additional answers should be displayed, the survey results should be visible to all participants, and whether participants may edit responses afterwards.
- Click "Submit Form" to generate the survey link. A field opens in which you can invite participants via email. Alternatively, the survey can also be published on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. If you want to grant editing rights to colleagues or acquaintances, you can do that too.
- Determine whether the results should be integrated in a new table or in an existing table. Alternatively, you can save the answers directly in the survey.
- In the menu you can see the survey result under "My file". Under "Form" you will also find the sub-item "Show summary of answers". Here you receive a graphical evaluation of the individual questions in the form of cake diagrams.
For creative users there are also 18 free design templates under "Design". However, portals such as "SoSci" and "Surveymonkey" are more suitable for more complex surveys, for example on scientific or statistical work. In addition to refined answer options, there is also the option of integrating media elements. "Doodle" is suitable for making appointments.
